American bass Anthony Reed made his Royal Opera House debut this season as Collatinus TheRape of Lucretia in a Britten Pears Arts production inaugurated at Snape Maltings. Opera News praised him saying “... his centered voice and earnest interpretation made his European debut in this production memorable,” while the Guardian called his voice “darkly sonorous.”He returned to the US to appear in Florida Grand Opera’s double bill as Simone in both Gianni Schicchi and Buoso’s Ghost and will finish this season as Tchélio in The Love for Three Oranges at Des Moines Metro Opera.
