"Reed proved himself a real find with his masculine, russet-velvet timbre, and easy fluidity in the display passages..."
OPERA NEWS
American bass Anthony Reed made his Royal Opera House debut last season as Collatinus The Rape of Lucretia in a Britten Pears Arts production inaugurated at Snape Maltings. Opera News praised him saying “… his centered voice and earnest interpretation made his European debut in this production memorable,” while the Guardian called his voice “darkly sonorous.” He recently made three role debuts and house debuts. Figaro in New Orleans Opera’s Le nozze di Figaro, Raimondo in Pensacola Opera’s Lucia di Lammermoor, and Tchélio in Des Moines Metro Opera’s The Love for Three Oranges.
